    Wisdom for the Ages

     Wisdom for the Ages” will be the theme for the annual Women’s History program, Saturday, March 24, at 3 p.m. Noted author, Haywood County native and cultural historian,  Cynthia Bond Hopson, will host and facilitate a panel of local trailblazers and leaders.

    This is the fourth year for the program led by Bond Hopson. Her books on Haywood County include The Women of Haywood: Their Lives, Our Legacy, Wiggle Tales and Times of Challenge and Controversy.

    Panelists will include Martha Smith Harwell, Dr. Tamekia Dancy, Marjorie Vaulx, Evangelist Diane Reid, Maritza Cruz, Marcina Harris, Barbara Dedmon Flores, Daphne Nelson, Dr. Johnnetta Walker Neal and Dr. Clarice White.

    Small World of Cotton

    Exploring Cotton Culture through Toys

    Join us for the opening reception of The Small World of Cotton, Saturday, April 28, 3-5 p.m., at the Delta Heritage Center, Brownsville.

    You'll explore the world of cotton through miniature farm creations by West Tennessee "Toy Farmer" Darryl Cox. These 1/16th scale scratch-built toys tell the story of cotton ginning and the use of modern day farm equipment.

    This exhibit is both educational and fun. Enjoy music by B. B. Steel and refreshments during this free event. For more information, call 731-779-9000.
